GLP-GV6 LED Driver 200W 24V – powerful and waterproof power supply for LED strips
Waterproof and well-protected LED driver 200W 24V, which is perfect for 24 V DC LED strips, for example. The 200 watt GV6 series is slightly smaller than the GLSV series. The height of this driver is only 37 mm and the length is 147.5 mm. This is very suitable for medium-sized LED installations, for example for the LED strip in the kitchen space + strips that go on top of the cabinets . Regarding safety, there is overheating protection, short circuit protection, overvoltage protection and overload protection.

Dimming LEDs
This driver cannot be dimmed, but you can install an LED dimmer between the driver and the light source as normal . This driver does not whine, which means this driver is silent even with dimmers. Many LED driver have a slight whine when using an LED dimmer. The whine occurs when the light output is about 80% and it is an annoying sound if you have a sensitive ear. This driver is quiet.
Advantages: safe, quality at a reasonable price, worry-free
According to the technical specifications of this LED driver, it is not intended to be used in so-called no-load mode. The driver –> dimmer –> strip described above is a permitted installation method.
LED driver installation
This LED driver is suitable for 24 V DC LED strips, for example. The power is enough for about 18 meters of COB CC 8.6W LED strip, for example . Regarding safety, there is overheating protection, short circuit protection, overvoltage protection and overload protection . Of these, short circuit and overload protection work on the power cut principle. This means that in a problem situation, the LED driver starts to cut off the power and it makes the lights flicker. The power cut continues until the fault is removed. Overheating protection and overvoltage protection cut off the power from the 24 volt side –> the lights go out. The lights can be turned on by turning the power on again after the driver has cooled down and/or the overload has been removed.
The protections also work in a similar way in other high-quality LED drivers. The driver cools itself with the air that circulates around it, so install it in a place where warm air can mix with the surrounding air. It is therefore not a good idea to place the driver in a sealed enclosure where the air cannot circulate. A good place in the kitchen is, for example, on top of the upper cabinets.
Sufficient LED driver power
The maximum power of this LED driver is a comfortable 200 watts and the operating voltage is 24 volts. When you are thinking about a suitable driver for an LED installation, it is worth taking a slightly more powerful LED driver than what the maximum load will be . Typically, LED drivers of this power are used for LED strip installations. You can have LED strips of different power following one driver. For example, you can have this 200W LED driver and 2 or 3 1x8A wireless receivers and then groups of LED strips no. 1, no. 2 and no. 3. This way you can make 3 groups. You don’t necessarily need separate drivers.

Dimensions and connection instructions:
The general safety distance for LED drivers to surrounding materials is 25 mm above and to the sides. When considering where to install the driver, make sure there is enough space around it. A driver with this power will heat up if there is a lot of load. Install the driver in a place where the driver has room to cool down and where you can access it if necessary. If there is a place for the driver, for example near a maintenance hatch, then checking it is an easy task.
