LED strip lighting has completely changed how we illuminate kitchens. Ledtek introduced the first LED strips to Finland back in 2009 — and with over 15 years of experience, we know what high-quality kitchen lighting requires. We carefully select our own LED strips to ensure top-level quality and consistent performance.

For under-cabinet and countertop lighting, we recommend at least a 12 W/m COB LED strip. Lower-power 4,5 W strips are fine for mood lighting, but they won’t provide enough brightness for working areas. The main purpose of kitchen LED lighting is to illuminate the workspace effectively, not just create atmosphere.

The best results come when the LED strip is installed inside an aluminum profile. A dry-area LED strip works perfectly in this setup, even under drying cabinets. The aluminum profile protects the strip from moisture. Water drops remain on the surface and don’t reach the strip so extra silicone protection isn’t needed.

To power the LED strip, you’ll need a LED driver (power supply). Depending on your setup, you may also want a dimmer or controller, aluminum profiles, and connection accessories. A high-quality under-cabinet lighting installation typically costs around €200–300, depending on the number of strips and dimming options. Adding lights to the toe kick, top of cabinets, or glass cabinets will naturally increase the total cost.
